Clarifying Demineralizing Shampoo (CDS) removes old product build up, chemicals, minerals and free metals. The blend of amino acids restores the hair & improves the overall hair health. Because natural chelating ingredients are used, it is not as harsh & stripping as most demineralizing shampoos. The hair is left softer and is protected from free radical damage.

FAQ

Q1. What is CDS Clarifying Demineralizing Shampoo and what does it do?
A: CDS is a clarifying / demineralizing shampoo that deeply cleanses the hair and scalp by removing product buildup, chemical residues, hard-water minerals, and free metals — things that regular shampoos may not fully eliminate.
It also helps restore hair health via a special amino-acid blend that improves softness, shine, and hair resilience.

Q2. Who should use the shampoo?
A: It’s particularly beneficial for clients who use heavy styling products (waxes, gels, sprays), frequent swimmers (chlorine build-up), people exposed to hard water, or anyone noticing limp, dull, or weighed-down hair due to buildup.
It’s also useful as a “reset” before color services or chemical treatments to ensure the hair is clean and free of residues.

Q3. What makes CDS different from a regular shampoo?
A: Unlike everyday shampoos, CDS is formulated for deep cleansing — it doesn’t just wash away oils or dirt, but also removes built-up styling product residue, chlorine, minerals, and free metals that accumulate over time.

Also, the current formula is sulfate-free, making it gentler than many traditional clarifying/de-mineralizing shampoos, while still being effective.

Q4. What benefits can clients expect after using CDS?

  • Hair that’s lighter, fresher, and free from residue buildup — leading to restored natural bounce and volume.

  • Improved softness, shine, and manageability thanks to the amino-acid and botanical blend.

  • Better preparation for chemical or color services (ensuring no build-up that interferes with processing).

  • Protection from free radical damage and potential damage from minerals/metals/chlorine build-up.

Q5. How often should it be used?
A: Because it’s a clarifying shampoo (deeper cleanse than regular shampoo), it’s best used intermittently — for example, once a month or whenever buildup from styling products, hard water, pool chlorine, or chemical residue is suspected.

Over-use can dry hair out, so it’s ideal to follow CDS with a good moisturizer or conditioner after use.

Q6. How should a stylist or client apply it for best results?
A: Wet hair thoroughly, apply a small (quarter-size) amount of shampoo, massage into scalp and lengths, focus especially on build-up zones, let it lather for a minute or two if needed, then rinse thoroughly. For heavier build-up (swimmers, pool, miners), a second pass may help.
After rinsing, follow with a nourishing conditioner or mask to restore moisture lost during cleansing.

Q7. Is it safe for color-treated or chemically processed hair?
A: Yes — the formula is now sulfate-free, which is gentler and safer for color-treated or processed hair than many clarifying shampoos.
Because it removes residual minerals and chemicals, it can actually help prolong color vibrancy and ensure chemical treatments perform more consistently.

Q8. When should a salon or stylist recommend CDS to a client?
A: Recommend CDS when a client complains of heavy, dull, greasy, or “product-coated” hair; when they swim in chlorinated water; after several styling sessions; before color/chemical services; or periodically as a maintenance “reset” to keep hair healthy, clean and responsive to treatments.
